07.02.2013 Gordon’s Bay – Camps Bay
Um 8 Uhr heute Morgen ging ich schon der Küste entlang joggen, zuerst
eine kurze Strecke auf der Strasse dann alles am Strand - ein idealer
Tagesanfang! Um 9:30 Uhr genossen wir ein herrliches Frühstück mit Sicht über die ganze False Bay. Danach packten wir unsere Koffer und um 11 Uhr waren wir bereit für die Abfahrt.
At 8 am this morning I went for a long run along
the coast, first a bit on the street and then on the beach - what a great way
to start the day! At 9:30 am we had a delicious breakfast overlooking
the whole False Bay. Thereafter we packed our suitcases and at 11 am we were
ready for departure.

Wir fuhren soweit es ging alles der Küste entlang. Als wir in
Khayelitsha durch die Slums fuhren übergaben wir einem Überglücklichen einen
Sack voller Kleider - dieses Strahlen hätte ich eigentlich fotografieren
sollen!
As far as possible we drove all along the coast.
When we crossed the slums in Khayelitsha we gave a bag full of clothes to a
very lucky one - I really should have taken a picture of his smile!

Um 14 Uhr erreichten wir das Kap der Guten Hoffnung und weil wir sonst
schon genügend Bewegung und noch etliche Rand im Sack hatten nahmen wir den
Flying Dutchman zum Leuchtturm hinauf. Wir hatten grosses Glück mit dem Wetter:
Es war quasi windstill (eine Seltenheit hier!) aber sehr heiss - ich hätte nie
gedacht, dass man hier oben auch schwitzen kann! ; ) Da wir noch über
ausreichend Energie verfügten, nahmen wir den Weg zum äussersten Punkt unter
die Füsse...
At 2 pm we reached the Cape of Good Hope and
because we had had enough exercise up to now and still lots of Rands in our
pockets we decided to take the Flying Dutchman up to the lighthouse. We were
very lucky with the weather: There was almost no wind (very seldom here) and it
was very hot - I never thought that I would be sweating up here! ; ) As we
still had some reserves of energy we walked to the utmost point...

2 Stunden und ein Softeis später fuhren wir dem Kap der Westküste
entlang auf spektakulären Strassen nach Camps Bay, wo wir um 18 Uhr im The Bay
Hotel (www.thebayhotel.com) eincheckten. Nach kurzem Frischmachen schlenderten wir schon der
Promenade entlang auf die perfekte Bar für einen Apero und den
Sonnenuntergang...
2 hours and a soft ice later we drove back the cap
along the west coast on spectacular roads to Camps Bay where we checked in The
Bay Hotel (www.thebayhotel.com) at 6 pm. After having installed and refreshed ourselves we walked
along the promenade in search of the perfect bar to have an appetizer and the
sunset...

Um 20 Uhr gingen wir nebenan ins Restaurant Paranga und genossen ein
wundervolles Essen und natürlich den richtigen Wein dazu! (Esthi: Nun haben wir wieder etwas gut gemacht, nicht?)

where we had an exquisite meal and a very nice wine with it!
