Auch heute Morgen wurden wir um 4:45 Uhr für die Morgensafari geweckt.
Beim Tee und Saft aktualisierte ich meinen Blog und um 5:30 Uhr ging es 3 ½
Stunden in den Busch auf der Suche nach Büffeln und Leoparden… leider
versteckte sich beides vor uns – trotz dass heute Hansruedis Geburtstag war! :
( Um 9:30 Uhr waren wir zurück in der Motswari Lodge, wo wir das herrlichen Frühstück
am Fluss einnahmen, danach nahm ich eine abkühlende Dusche und dann stand schon
wieder Packen auf dem Programm...
Also this morning we got woken up at 4:45 am for
the morning safari. While having tea and a fruit juice I updated my blog and at
5:30 am we drove off into the bush in search for buffaloes and leopards…
unfortunately they all were hiding from us – in spite of being Hansruedi’s
birthday today! : ( At 9 am we were back at the Motswari Lodge for breakfast
which we enjoyed at the river, thereafter I went for a cooling down shower and
then we had to pack our suitcases...

Um 11:30 Uhr in brütender Hitze traten wir die Abreise Richtung Pretoria
an. Zuerst ging es wieder 40 km durch den Krüger Park und da lief uns doch
tatsächlich wieder ein Leopard über die Strasse – die andern Tiere schienen
sich im Schatten zu verstecken!
At 11:30 am in the blazing
heat we were ready to hit the roads towards Pertoria!
First we drove back 40 km through the Kruger Park and indeed again there was a
leopard crossing the street – the other animals seemed to hide themselves in
the shade!

Weiter ging es entlang der Panoramastrasse, so wie wir bereits gekommen
waren, über den Abel Erasmus Pass und um den Drakensberg. Unterwegs machten wir
einen Kaffeestopp in Dullsroom, einem schmucken Dorf in einer Gegend, die uns
an die Highlands von Schottland erinnerte.
Thereafter we took the panorama road, like we came
some days ago, crossed the Abel Erasmus and drove around the Drakensberg. On
the way we made a coffee stop in pretty Dullsroom where the countryside
reminded us of the Highlands of Scotland. (Stéphane: I finally got my skin - they assured me that the ones of the springboks are allowed and OK...)

Auch die
restlichen 200 km auf der Autobahn brachten wir im Nu hinter uns und um 18 Uhr
erreichten wir das Morning Star Express Hotel (www.morningstarhotel.co.za) in Pretoria, das
ich in der Nähe der Blue Train Station reserviert hatte. Kaum hatten wir unser
Gepäck im Zimmer verstaut, war Opa schon da, der uns mit seinem Taxi ins
Restaurant Moyo fuhr - unterwegs sang er ‚Happy Birthday‘ für Hansruedi!
Also the remaining 200 km on the highway passed quickly and at 6 pm we
arrived at the Morning Star Express Hotel (www.morningstarhotel.co.za) in Pretoria,
which I had booked because it is situated close to the Blue Train Station. As
soon as we had put our luggage in the room, Opa arrived who took us with his
taxi to the Restaurant Moyo – on the way he sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for
Hansruedi!

Wir
genossen ein ausgezeichnetes Geburtstagsessen im Restaurant Moyo: Springbok
Carpaccio und dann in exzellentes Rindsfilet – natürlich mit einer Flasche
südafrikanischem Champagner! Der Abend wurde nicht spät, denn wir hatten noch
einiges an Schlaf nachzuholen und der morgige Tag würde wieder früh beginnen…

We enjoyed a superb birthday dinner at the Restaurant
Moyo: springbok carpaccio and then fantastic tenderloin – of course with a
bottle of South African champagne! For once we called it an early night as we
still had to catch up with sleep and tomorrow we would start early again…
